DATA & PRIVACY · UPDATED 10 OCTOBER 2026
Your logbook. Your choice to share.
Distill Log stores the information needed to run your account, sync your logbook and provide the community. This page describes how the current app works.
Accounts and private records
Your account includes your name, email address and a hashed password. Your runs, recipes, readings, notes, bottling records and uploaded photos sync to the server you signed in to. The app also keeps an offline copy on your phone. Signing out keeps that copy; uninstalling the app does not delete the server copy.
Members cannot browse another member's private logbook. Service administrators can access server data when operating and maintaining the service.
Community content
Publishing a recipe shares a snapshot with community members. Your private batch history is not published with it. Forum posts, replies and their attached photos are shared with members and can be reviewed by moderators.
Keys and optional services
Optional provider credentials can stay in your phone's secure storage. If you choose account storage, they are encrypted on the server. Using an external provider sends the material you submit to that provider, under its own terms.
Cookies and website logs
The website uses first-party session cookies for account sign-in and form protection. This landing page has no advertising or analytics trackers. The web server records ordinary request logs, including IP address, request path and browser information.
Copies, changes and removal
Use Download my data in the app to export your records and available photos. Ask the administrator who invited you for help with account details or removal. Deleted information may remain temporarily in sync history, retained photo files or backups.
The landing page's examples are illustrative and do not display members' private records.
