Community guidelines · Updated 11 October 2026
Keep it useful, keep it kind
The forum and shared recipes are for people who make spirits to swap what they’ve learned. You agree to these guidelines before your first post, and moderators act on them. There’s no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive members.
What’s welcome
Questions, runs, recipes and results, good and bad. Disagree about method as much as you like, as long as you’re polite about the person.
What isn’t allowed
- Harassment, threats, insults, slurs or hate aimed at anyone, or at people for who they are.
- Sexual content, and anything that sexualises children.
- Spam, advertising and links to sell things.
- Selling spirits or offering to, or encouraging drinking to excess or drink-driving.
- Advice that puts people in danger, such as drinking the foreshots or leaving a running still alone.
- Other people’s private information, or their photos and recipes passed off as yours.
- Pretending to be someone else.
Check the law where you live: many countries, including the US and the UK, need a licence to distil.
What happens
Some words are refused before they’re posted. Anyone can report a post or a member, and moderators review reports within a day. They remove what breaks these guidelines, and can disable the account that posted it, without warning when it’s serious.
Blocking someone
Block a member from their profile, or from the menu on one of their posts, and you stop seeing their discussions, replies and recipes. See who you’ve blocked, and unblock them, in the app under Settings › Account › Blocked members, or on your profile on this site.
